All New Volkswagen Amarok Pickup - European Model

http://www.eurocarnews.com- Volkswagen AG - With the European version of the Amarok in Leipzig, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is showing the most advanced production pickup in the world today. Its highly advanced TDI engines -- all boosted direct injection engines -- will set new standards when it comes to fuel economy and emissions. The pickup's active and passive safety systems and convenience features all match up to passenger car levels. Yet the Amarok is extremely rugged.

Many of the technologies implemented in the Amarok are being used for the first time in the mid-size pickup segment. They include Bi-Turbo charging of the top engine and an optional permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive with Torsen differential, one of three driveline options of the new model. In terms of its space, truck bed width and height, cargo loading abilities and payload capacity, the new Amarok is "Best in Class".

Don't get me wrong, I love VW. I just think that in say 12 months they will add the fantastic DSG box to it and it will be great. I think that VW are going to loose out with drivers who like to drive auto's. Just to put you right, I have driven Diesel engines all my life, BMW, VW , in vans and cars, and i know what drives the best and gives the greatest enjoyment. All I said was that I would have ordered one if it had the DSG box and slightly greater HP.

@TheDinky29 You can test drive them now, I went in to have a "Look" at one came out owning it!! It feels so much like a car to drive. No difference other than ride height and a bit more roll obviously than the missus' golf!! Get a high spec one!! But a basic one is £16k
