I have not eaten meats in 11 years and i was a BIG Carnivore!! Husband still eats his meats, and makes his own deer sausage ( Yuk), BUT, he likes many of the Morningstar Farms producs.. Also try Seitan ( Wheat Meat)!! Great for TEOTWAKI, too!!
@savgal1211 Seitan is on my list of projects to do later, I think I would be able to deal with that more than tofu, as I am used to flour and wheat more than soy... Thanks for the comment
We have started adding TVP in some of our ground beef meals. We dont exactly like it, It absorbs the taste of what you cook it with which helps. We feel that we will be using more of it from storage in the upcoming year so its good to find a taste for it now.
@jplerwill My plan also... When I started with food storage I bought a big can of TVP, years later I actually tried it and thought to myself how lucky I was to never have had to rely on it because I don't like it. But I figure if I add a little here and there maybe it won't be so bad.
@Allen2045 TVP is textured vegetable protein. Basically its vegetarian meat substitute. Its used in many freeze dried long term storage meals because it is cheap and easy to make.
