I wonder how many people understand the roots of James Brown's music today. True, unadulterated African-American Southern blues/r&b/soul, all of which came directly from gospel music. To watch and listen to this (again;-) decades later is a gift. Thanks for posting!!!!
This was a live version! This was from Shindig. had to be, James had no whiote guys in his band at the time. Great spin, and mike grab at 2:09. From my home town of Aiken, S.C., saw him at 12 yrs.old at the Walt Whitman Field-house in Bethesda, MD. Changed my life.
