On September 12-14, 2007 EU/UNFPA co-funded project Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in the South Caucasus (RHIYC) conducted the 2nd South Caucasus Youth Festival -- "Caucasus Healthy Wave" in Batumi, Georgia.
The aim of the Festival was to promote healthy lifestyle among young people and change their attitudes and behaviors towards harmful practices and raise their awareness about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
The three day festival included many sport and outreach activities planned and organized by young people to effectively reach their peers. Youth from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, govenrnmental officials, representatives of mass media, officials from UNFPA and EC Delegation to Georgia and Armenia and famous musicians took part in the Festival.
The festival brought together hundreds of young people from three South Caucasus countries, different community groups and general public to participate in different events and activities. Their interest and involvement was a clear demonstration of sense of social responsibility and willingness to make positive changes.
