These are really similar to Mexican Wedding cookies, except they usually call for pecans or walnuts. They must be yummy with the pine nuts! Must try them sometime.

For people asking how she maintains her weight, the answer is actually obvious: MODERATION.
Moderation means you watch your serving size and calorie intake as to not overeat or eat more calories than you should (that is, more than what you burn).
If you live a very sedentary lifestyle (you don't move around or exercise much), you are not going to burn as many calories as someone who does.
So, be mindful of calories, and get up and exercise!
