The Lima Company Memorial (February 2008 Update)

This video shows a partial look and the now completed Lima Company Memorial. Below is the text that described this video during February of 2008.

Artist Anita Miller has now painted 7 of the 8 panels for The Lima Company Memorial. As she was finishing up
the 7th panel she decided to do something different to the backgrounds, as well as the lower half of the paintings. The new backgrounds bring a whole new look to the already amazing paintings. As you will see in this brief video update, Anita has not changed or finished the backgrounds and lower half on a couple of the paintings just yet. This could possibly be done by the end of the month of February.

Come see the Lima Company Memorial when it debuts to the public in the Ohio Statehouse rotunda from Memorial Day to Veterans Day 2008. For more information go to www.limacompanymemorial.org

Special thanks goes out to David Shaffer, Director of the Miami University Marching Band for composing the song "Purple Heart", a tribute to former student LCpl Michael Cifuentes who was part of Lima Company 3/25.

It is actually the Southwest Ohio Symphonic Band, but David Shaffer is conducting. I won't be able to video it, but hopefully someone will. The SOSB is an arm of the University, but it is technically a community band. It is, however, a great community band.

meyerhaus - I know of several people that recorded the SOSB concert, including Miami University. Just to add to the story though, two of the soloists (flute and tenor sax solo) in the SOSB rendition were classmates and pledge class members of Mike Cifuentes.

Oh man, it´s so sad to know that all these young guy´s are dead. Fallen for their country, fought for a better world. I am speechless to see your engagement to make that those hereos will be never forgotten.
