The dot co-ordinates are basically low-passed mouse co-ordinates. The dots have different cut-off frequencies. Blue has the highest cut off frequency, and the red has the lowest cut off frequency.

The low pass filter is basically a moving average filter.

This video is an experiment to visualize physical effects of filtering.
