That bridge is from eastern Nepal on Tamor river. The picture is from B. M. Niven's "The Mountain Kingdom: Portraits of Nepal and the Gurkhas." The book is available on amazon dot com. In the book, the caption for the picture reads "A bridge of heavy logs cantilevered out over the headwaters of the Tamur River, E. Nepal. "

Neolithic tools found in the Kathmandu Valley indicate that the Mongoloid people have been living in the Himalayan region for at least 9,000 years. This is quite a findings released by the Journals of the Department of Archaeology of Nepal, published 2003.
