And please, don't blame the people. If there is someone at fault, it is the one who is (or was) in power. Mismanagement by them caused this and the only way to get back up is having "true" leaders who are willing to do what they can to bring Nauru forward. Having a proper leader(s) will be a better solution for the long-term than having millions of aids in dollars (which will just be swiped by a corrupted leader). Like they say, "Prevention is better than a cure"

I had lived in Nauru for a long time before. Even as a pure-blood Filipino, It is the home I grew up to know. The first place where I learned and played. The place and reason why I am who I am today. Even though the island was experiencing an economic downturn, I lived my life there happily and with a smile. They were great and loving people. And it even broke my heart to bid the island goodbye as I left for college. What I really want to say is, "Do not judge a book by its cover"
