If your able too afford one..then Go ahead. THo I wouldnt reccomend if you buy a BIg expensive camera like that..you could aslo get the top of the ling Consumer cameras Canon XL H1S, or the popular canon XL2. Oh any Panasonic brand..you would Save thousands...U might as well get a range rover for the price of a REd or pantavision or high end studio cam..

Thank you for the information. Its helps out a lot considering I'm unable to go to film school due to several reasons. The top reason not being able to afford the cost. But I still wish to make cinema grade films. I mean my every day cam just won't cut it. So I need a camera that will have that 35mm quality. I'll look into the cams you listed. Also any further info would be great. And again thank you for the info.

Lots of old foagies are hating on the RED and it's followers because it makes it easier to take amazing footage! Of course a good concept, writing, and acting are important when telling a story visually but it sure helps to have high resolution images to work with! nobody is saying that this camera will automatically make your films good, but it sure wont make it harder to make something that wows people!
