@DrewDavis1650 Why are people so competitive? They were all at the top of their game while they were alive. Miles Davis lived a long time, saw music, even jazz, go through many transitions and he was still a much sought-after musician. If they were all alive, somebody on the earth would still remember them, along with new people. Yet, the question is actually a silly question if you really think about it because it's a - "we'll never know; we can't know" - for clearly obvious reasons..

The ideas of 'best', "top' are not in the minds of greatly gifted players. They are compelled to perform to their utmost by the same One driving Mystery Of Mysteries.

LeeMorgan plays well, I wonder If Lee Morgan, Clifford Browne and of course Sir Miles Davis were all alive today and in good Physical shape who would be the at the Top of their game, of would be the most outstanding trumpet player of all time. I like Clifford Browne.
