Silver Safari 2010

2 hunts in local parks - the first with a minelab safari with the SEF 10x12 coil - here I broke my year's goal of finding 50 silvers. Thanks to IndyDert for the dramatic audio idea. The second hunt was with Eagle1, DaveW0710, and JB103081 where several old coins were found with a minelab etrac equipped with the minelab 7.5" coil. The park was quite trashy, so the smaller DD coil worked well.

The second park has little islands dense with good finds surrounded by large expanses of sparse coins and lots of trash. Where these good spots never detected? Do the trashy spots have good stuff hidden beneath the trash? As the islands of goodness dwindle, we will have to start to answer the second question by digging out the trash and seeing if there is anything hiding underneath.

how does the safari work in highly trashy areas?

@BlakeRowellx It is a pretty good machine in trashy areas. If you put on a smaller coil it is even better. I think one of the main reasons that people do well with the high end minelabs is that they are good at separating close targets.
