Mike Wilds is an ex-F1 Racer.
He was an avid historic racer.
Wilds is best known for infamously crashing Gilles Villeneuve's Ferrari 312T at the 1994 Goodwood Festival of Speed, sustaining a broken leg and serious body injuries...........
In addition to his car racing career, Wilds is now an active commercial helicopter pilot and instructor.
He is affectionately known as 'The Honorific' Mike Wilds !

@Apoic123 Gilles wasn't killed in this 312T, he was running a 126 in 82. I'm a massive fan of Gilles and i think he would have rather the cars get run even if they do from time to time get dinged up. Lets face it he wasn't a stranger to mangling some of enzos finest, and less fine, creations along the way. Forza Gilles!

I was standing right opposite the point where wilds started to slide sideways and lose control. I never thought that there was a mechanical failure that led to the crash. From where I was standing (about 30 feet away), he put his left rear wheel onto the grass just as he accelerated past us. Ther car went sideways up the hill and the bulk of the damage and injuries was caused when the front of the car slammed against the kerb stones leading to the paddock entrance gate.
The car is now fixed.

Hard to be well known F1-racer when only managing to qualify for 3 out of 8 races where he entered. He has yet to see the checkered flag from the cockpit, although in his defense, he drove crappy cars.
