Engineer Shortage? Duke Study Says No

Vivek Wadhwa was the one who produced the study if you want to look for further information.
Don't believe the globalization lie that it produces high quality jobs. There is no reason a company will hire you as an engineer when there is someone on the other side of the planet that is cheaper. And starting a new business here is very difficult when you are forced to compete against cheaper competition.
The only group that truly wins are the multinationals. Until small business startups can start as multinational's from day one it's going to be a tough road for American engineers. I have no idea what the dollar decline will do as China and other countries around the world have typically pegged their currency. All of the pegged currencies and currency manipulation in general will have to unwind. And I doubt that will be pretty.
Either way it looks like the life of an average engineer will be difficult. The only real path if you love engineering and live in the US is to start your own business. Don't expect the corporations to be there. Good luck.

USA has tens of millions of skilled engineers who created all this tech. There is no shortage of skilled engineers in America. India can't even create its own operating system, let alone help America's economy.
