Setting on the guitar is on neck PU, tone halfway down. Setting on Amp is on JC Clean, tone midway, gain miday, and volume at 1/4 (don't wanna disturb the neighbours), and added a bit chorus & reverb effect.

Basic chords are fine, they're the basic fundementals of harmony in music. the 1, 3, 5.

Withouth basic chords, none of the 7th, 9th, Maj, minor won't happen.

Just keep on practising and you'll get better and widen your chord vocab.
