Listening to Georgia Gibbs, I fully understand why the birth of rock 'n' roll was so-o-o-o necessary. God help us all if mainstream music had stayed this white-bread and soulless!

@alexvillacrucis Go on the web and type in, Georgia Gibbs Bridge of Sighs lyrics , and the lyrics will come up. There is another song with the same name and if you just type in "Bridge Of Sighs" that song will come up.

Don't know if there ever was any other singer in the 50's, male or female, who could have given better justice to this song than Georgia Gibbs. This probably explains why I haven't heard any other version of this song. Usually when an enchanting song like this comes out, other recording companies rush to get their star singers cut a single of such a song. Not in this case. It looks like The Nibs (though she wasn't recognized as much as the others in her era) simply scared them away.

I Don't know if anyone else had recorded this great song, but Georgia's was the only one to chart. It only charted #30, I think it sould have charted much higher than that.
