A Shankapotomus is someone who loses a bet on a sporting event, but adamantly (and incorrectly) claims some technical rules violation by the winner and refuses to pay up.
Actually, I believe a shank is a badly hit golf shot - shankapotamus is a reference to the number of bad shots he hit (it's also my new nickname for my wife :-) )

You're right. A "shank" in golf is when you hit the ball on the hosel, have a wide open club face at the point of impact or some other club face condition that makes the ball go in almost a perpendicular direction relative to the hole...It's a funny commercial =)
He (the baby) is right. In golf, if your ball settles on a cart path you are allowed 'relief' from your lie to the closest position off the cart path, no closer to the hole, that allows you to "address" the ball. (There's more but I'm not going to bore you with it...=) Still funny anyway...
