John McCain has had many gaffes but does he get labeled dumb? You can't say he's uniformed, so no. Instead his age is targeted. @logic39da I'm not defending Palin, but there is a double standard since the most of the entertainment community, the people who make the jokes, tend to lean just the slightest bit to the left of center, we don't see Obama lampooned for his constant stream of "mistatements" and gaffes the same way we see Palin or Bachmann jokes. I grant you, Bachmann is a real gift to comics but Obama and Biden put their foot in it almost weekly and it doesn't make the same impression on the joke makers.

He was asked about the states he'd already visited, was doing math in his head and said 57 instead 47. We've ALL done that with numbers and names.
