  • can you make a rimless tank and not be worried about it bowing too much?

  • @aquariumguy101 Sure, you just need a much thicker acrylic.

  • Hi,

Say I wanted to build a column aquarium of sorts, what would the brace requirments of a tank like thank. Would I need something like acrylic rings on the inside every 24inchs I go up?

Like say the tank is 36"L 36"W but like 72" tall

or when using acrylic is there a definite hight limit?

  • @olinga1 The taller you go, the thicker you need to go. Bracing is still the same. A tank 6 feet tall is going to need some VERY thick acrylic. Use my calculator on my site to find out the thickness needed.

  • Hello joey, how thick is the acrylic of the ray tank in the beginning of the movie?

  • @Tattoojeff88 That tank is 12mm thick as well. It is 80x40x20.5"

  • hey joey had a question. when bracing on acrylic could u use the standard glass tank plastic brace? and do i need both braced on top as well as the bottom?

  • Whats the electric bill for that tank alone? Do you know?

  • Hi Joey. I love your videos, but being a carpenter I have to tell you that a router does cut in one direction better than another. As your router was jerking (around 18:50 ish in your video) it is a sign of going in the wrong direction. If you were to start your cut from the other end of your work piece you would find the router bit pulling your router into your guide 2X4 and not trying to jump forward. Please check a router video or two and be safe. I love your videos otherwise. Great job
