I am a newbie...have made many A5 cards...I have a collage type piece in the works that uses card stock weight paper to create a cityscape. I had originally intended to use wax to secure it but after learning more I have gone back to lift and glue certain sections/pieces. I have not experienced this "separating" situation. After applying semi-heavy top coats of clear over card stock..will it stay put? I am concerned. Thanks all!

Great tips! I love making collage but am such a novice. It's so nice to see other artists doing the same out there.

Any type of glue such as matte medium that is an acrylic is not compatible with encaustics. Wax will not make a permanent bond or fuse to acrylics. It might last several years, but it is like oil and water; eventually, they will separate.

I found all your videos very helpful and inspiring. Thank you for all the tips. Going to get to work on some more pieces and hopefully i'll have more success with detail bits now. I look forward to seeing more videos like these.
