"Team Jordan" members happily continue the late Robert Jordan's epic saga THE WHEEL OF TIME with the first of three final novels, THE GATHERING STORM. Fortunately, Jordan left behind copious notes, recordings, files, scenes and details that special fans and bestselling Mistborn author Brandon Sanderson have sorted through to bring this stunning fantasy to its long-awaited conclusion.
@chopin65 Thank you for your opinion. You voiced your opinion... I voiced my opinion... then you insult me a little. Aren't talks over the internet fun?

@chopin65 Tolkien is British, not American. Tolkien didn't break any records, he just wrote an amazing story, by creating an entire world. While Robert Jordan is probably an imitator, he takes it so far beyond that, that their works are incomparable.
If you don't like how the writer's style of writing puts words on the page, you can always stop reading. If you're not willing to do that, please stop complaining.

I'm a fan of Jordan's books. But I think two many American fantasy writers suffer from what is basically no limitation on length of each book or number of characters and plots permitted to a series. A well managed series to my mind is the Disc World series. Pratchett has written a lot of them, and not a single one of them suffers from these problems. Sometimes I get the impression that Tolkien started the idea that records are made to be broken in the genre.
