  • Unbeatable version. I saw him life in several places, also in this part.Always sang his heart out. No other tenor had this ringing top, none looked better, and here you can see that he has finesse as well.

  • Crying! Tears in my eyes. Wow!! This is absolutly awsome!

There was only one Callas. And there was only one Corelli.

  • I've seen two people disliked this. Let's think they clicked the wrong button. I've heard the whole performance, the best Cavaradossi ever recorded.

  • @geoden as well you might be one -- - ever hear of the emperors new clothes

credentials mean nothing when discussing voices and artistry- there are people to this day who think Callas a great singer - I suppose so, whenever she wobbled on to the right note .

Corelli is highly valued by many people is a fact and also a fact many people find his

singing a bore and that is not just an opinion .I prefer to hear music sung the way

    the composer wrote it .

  • @dziady1 Judging by the comments here and the general opinion of real experts worldwide, your assessment is clearly erroneous! This is not exact science, it's a subjective matter and if the vast majority differ then you have to accept that your opinion carries no weight. We don't know what your credentials are, you might well be a lunatic!

Corelli is a very highly rated tenor, that is a fact; you are confused about the difference between fact and opinion.

  • @geoden - Undoubtedly the same crowd that thought the three tenors horror show was about singing- especially the overweight one who masqueraded as a waiter with his

white tablecloth , artists show their skills by singing correctly what is written - you might

hear Podles to understand singing as an art form -quite different from a 2nd. rate\tenor yowling into the night .

  • @dziady1 Donkeys?

Judging by the applause I'd say the audience must have been 99% donkeys!

Your "donkey" characterisation of the people who pay for and keep opera alive is reprehensible and arrogantly elitist, whether motivated by jealousy or a desire to appear like a an expert and superior critic I have no idea. However, I would guess your hubristic stance will neither influence nor win you many friends here.

  • @dziady1 "It is about serving the music..."

I disagree, that kind of thinking is too rigid and stifles musical expression. Any performer whether singer or instrumentalist must have the freedom to experiment with a composer's score. Sometimes performing something "as written" is called for but not all the time, of course not all experimentation is good but often it is.

Finally, all artistes must be allowed to show their skills, audiences want and look for that in a performance.

  • Mamma mia che interpretazione...da brivido...un'artista immenso...saluti

  • GRazie Franco :)

  • je n'aime pas du tout,,mais que fait Mario??

  • BELLISIMO!!!!!! BRAVISIMO!!!!!!

My father-in-law, the first bassist for the NY Philharmonic, came to America with Toscanini to escape the fascists who wanted them dead. They worked together until Toscanini died. They loved and understood music and genius. They disdained lack of conscience, lack of talent and fools. Toscanini said "Men should be democrats in life and aristocrats in art." Toscanini died before he heard Corelli who my father-in-law saw as an aristocrat.
