(CNN) -- One passenger was killed when an airplane crashed in bad weather and split into two when landing early Monday on the island of San Andres, Colombia, officials said.

The number of injured remained unclear Monday morning, but the national police said six of at least 127 people aboard the plane were not hurt.

There also were conflicting reports as to how many people were aboard the Aires airline 737-700 jet when it crashed around 1:49 a.m. (2:49 a.m. ET). The Colombian national police initially said the flight had 131 people -- 121 adult passengers, four minors and six crew members. A list the police later released, however, indicated 127 people on board -- 121 passengers and six crew members.

The passenger list included six Americans, five French, four Brazilians, four Costa Ricans and two Germans, said Col. Hector Carrascal, director of navigation services at the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority.

Police identified the woman who was killed as Amar Fernandez de Barreto. The passenger manifest, which goes by last name first, lists a Barreto Fernandez Paola Andrea.

  • @aldeje92 maybe it fried the electronics so they had to do an emergency landing with no gear, then again i thought landing gear is designed to fall down into locking position during an emergency.

  • @shiftdrive81 Is it really? WOW! The writers of "lost" must have known that it would break into three pieces. It's like they predicted the future! Awesome! And cool so many survived

  • its designed to break into three pieces when it crashes

  • By the way is an 737-700 NG with less than 1 year of service, its unfortunatelly but that's aviation.

  • Microbusts are common during a lightning storm and cause airplaines to drop out of the sky short of the runway like the one in Dallas. The data recorder will show if the airplane started to increase speed first and rise then lose speed and drop short of the runway. Did this airport have a microburst detector?

  • @xeexxxeex most likely do to the bad weather the plane while landing almost at the runway had a wind shear or a stall and caused the plane to crash,my cuzin is a flight attendent for this company in colombia and lucky she was in reserved, but from my view a wind shear or stall caused the plane 2 crash cause a lightning wont do much damage, might leave a scratch or a dent but the plane will still b able 2 fly normal so lightning is not te cause

  • @aldeje92 I wonder what really happened.

    This is really strange.

  • OMG PEOPLE Y DO U KEEP SAYING IS A 737-200 WHEN IT REALLY IS A 737-700NG,A LIGHTNING STRIKE COULDNT BE THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH,IT COULD OF BEEN A WIND SHEAR,A LIGHTNING STRIKE WOULD ONLY LEAVE A DENT ON THE PLANE BUT NOT CAUSE IT 2 CRASH

  • Awesome! Broke into three pieces just like on "lost" lol
