I've heard mr.Ionescu at Cluj in the 90's, in Music Pub, and in Timisoara at Pod16, Romania. It was very colourful his music, and I was touched by his art. He played in that time with Eddie Neumann, a young sax player, with whom I've been played a couple of times. The things are linked sometimes.

Outstanding jazz from Canada and a huge treat to see and hear one of the all-time great saxophonists, Pat LaBarbera. Thanks for putting this up on youtube; made my day when I first heard/saw.
