The Potala is located in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, in People's Republic of China. The Potala Palace was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India after a failed uprising in 1959. Today the Potala Palace has been forcibly converted into a museum by the Chinese. It was named after Mount Potala, the abode of Chenresig or Avalokitesvara.

They were not a lot of women in Tibet who were considered "holy" compare to men, but still there were some. So, I am just giving the recognition that they existed and still exist.

Songtsen Gampo didn't build these two temples for Chinese Princess. He builds them for the statues of Buddhas, which were brought by the Nepali Princess and the Chinese Princess, as their dowries. It was one of the reason why he married them. These two status were very special because they were erected the Buddha was alive in India. No temple in Tibet was build for any lay women or lay me. They were temples for holy men or holy women.
