And another Bring the Song entry. Probably for July? Not sure where I've got to, chronologically. Now, I realise that, because not everybody listens to Radio 4 quite as much as I do, and because the internet is an international sort of whatnot, some folks may come across this who have never listened to the weather forecast for the waters around Britain which the BBC broadcasts at ten to one every morning. If you are such an individual, then this will make very little sense. Sorry about that. Still, more often than not, the shipping forecast is the last thing I listen to before falling asleep, so I thought it deserved a lullaby. It'll be on the internet somewhere, I'm sure; give it a listen. It's great.

North Utsire...
It's Tyne to go Forth round the ocean's weather once again.
My Sole thoughts are of Humber slumber;
Rockall disturbs me now, as, once again,
Since all seems set Fair Isle bid good Wight to one and all.
The long day now is Dover, my eyes are Bailey open now at all.
North Utsire...

Yeah, have caused some very awkward confusion with that one. And when I started mentioning German Bight, it only got worse.

Beautiful playing. This song reminds me of my parents. They'd listen to the forecast every morning to decide if they were going to call in sick or go fishing.

Thanks. I know it really, really shouldn't, but it always comes as a faint surprise when I'm reminded that some people listen to shipping forecasts because they want to know what the weather at sea is like!
