Rihm - String Quartet No.3 "Im Innersten" - 1st Movement

Wolfgang Rihm (born 13 March 1952) is a German composer from Karlsruhe. Rihm is an extremely prolific composer, with hundreds of completed scores, a large portion of which are yet to be commercially recorded. Rihm is Head of the Institute of Modern Music at the Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music and has been composer in residence at the festivals of Lucerne and Salzburg. He was honoured as "Officier dans lOrdre des Arts et des Lettres" by France in 2001.

Shen Shaomin (born 1959, Heilongjiang Province, China) is an artist based in Sydney and Beijing. He has exhibited internationally in exhibitions including the 2006 Liverpool Biennial, Mahjong at Kunstmuseum Bern in Switzerland and Dialogue at East West Gallery in Melbourne. He's famous for his "Unknown Creatures", has he calls them, which are sculptures of strange animals-like beasts that reminds sometimes alien figures or the surrealistic fantastic creatures. These unique sculptures are often made with animal and human bones.
