Ronald W. Zweig is the Taub Professor of Israel Studies at New York University, Director of the Taub Center and Academic Director of the Paths to Peace program. Dr. Zweig has a PhD in Modern History from the University of Cambridge, England. In 1977-1978 he was the Junior Fellow in Modern History at the Oxford University Center for Hebrew Studies, after which he joined Hebrew University, Jerusalem. In 1983 he transferred to the Department of Jewish History at Tel Aviv University, serving as Chair 2003-2004. From 1990-1993 he was director of the Institute for Research in the History of Zionism. Zweig has been a Visiting Professor at several US universities as well as a visiting fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge; Yad Vashem, Jerusalem and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. He was a member of the Historical Advisory Panel to the National Archives in Washington, DC.
Zweig has published three books (Britain and Palestine during the Second World War; German Reparations and the Jewish World: a History of the Claims Conference; and The Gold Train), many scholarly articles and edited three collections of essays. Between 1983-2000 he edited the Journal of Israeli History, and was also the editor of the online edition of the Palestine Post (1932-1950), a retrospective newspaper digitization project.
