Elvis Presley It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin
Written by Johnny Tillotson. Elvis recorded it February 20, 1969 at American Sound Studio in Memphis, TN. It is available on From Elvis in Memphis, The Memphis Record, Great Country Songs, From Nashville to Memphis-The Essential 60s Masters, and Suspicious Minds [1999], which is where this version is from.

I cry myself to sleep each night
Wishing I could hold you tight
Life seems so empty since you went away
And the pillow where you lay your head
Now holds my empty dreams instead
And it keeps right on a-hurtin'
Since you're gone

It keeps right on a'hurtin every minute of the day
Every hour you're away I feel so lonely
And I can't help it, I don't think I can go on
And it keeps right on a-hurtin' since you're gone

They say a man ain't supposed to cry
But when I see you passing by
My heart breaks down and cries a million tears
The pillow where you lay your head
Now holds my empty dreams instead
And it keeps right on a-hurtin' since you're gone

It keeps right on a'hurtin every minute of the day
Every hour you're away I feel so lonely
And I can't help it, I don't think I can go on
And it keeps right on a-hurtin' since you're gone
Yes, it keeps right on a-hurtin' since you're gone

  • it's another great song by the greatest singer of all time...

  • Rock, Country, Gospel, Blues... whatever, it's all Elvis. To me that's probably the most remarkable thing about our man. He IS a genre. There aren't to many artists you can say that about. Excellent edited and out together. Great Job buddy. A++++

  • @11anna7

It's not cheating when Elvis did it. Priscilla KNEW who she married. All those women would've gotten hold of him one point or another, even if he didn't want it to happen.

  • @11anna7 she did her part too. . . . .she knew that she didnt marry mr. nobody, he was elvis before and was elvis after, she got the name, his fame and lots and lots of money and didnt shed many tears thereafter

  • The King

  • @farranspointon I love Elvis but he did cheat on his wife. You can not put all the blame on Priscilla.

  • @farranspointon YOU COULD SAY THAT ABOUT ANY ONE HE CHOSE TO MARRY
