  • I have heard Jacqui McShee (Pentangle) sing this song and another singer, an Irish folk singer, Anne Byrne record this song in the 60's. Jacqui's version available to hear on Youtube but not Anne Byrne's (although there are few Anne Byrne songs on Youtube).

    I really like this version by Meg very, very much!

  • I first heard this ballad in the 60's on an Album by Joan Baez - Meg Baird's version is breath-taking - she nails it on every level - the vocals are perfection and she tells this story so very sweetly...

    She is a genius and perfect for this genre.
