I've been there, A good friend of the family used to live there and we stayed there for a few nights. Very real. Very true. No doubt about it. Personal experience, was driving down blablabla and a tree fell right in front of our car. Normal seeming things happen but for that reason. Dont criticize if you've never experienced it...

I live near there, and I've only been once at night by mistake. These "coincidences" occured: deer ran in front of a car, we almost hit a tree, and we saw what looked to be a bright light while leaving the place.
I won't enter there again, and I think it's beyond disrespectful for people (one of who I unfortunately know) to vandalize Maude's grave. I also think the dead there should be left in peace.
Either use it as an ordinary road, or don't go at all, please.

I ride my motorcycle around that very spot, both on the pothole-strewn pavement and the legal riding trails in the Pachaug forest.
Never saw or felt anything other than the condition of the worst road in existance (as far as pavement condition goes).
I first heard about this legend of Maude's grave back when I was a senior in high school, but up until literally a couple of days ago, I'd completely forgotten about it.
I wonder if, now that I'm thinking about it, I'll be haunted silly. :)

Eileen McNamara did a story for a local paper, The Day, in 2003 ("A Time Of Tales And Hauntings In Hell Hollow"). She interviewed relatives of Maud's family and someone from a local historical society. She also looked at town records. The article pretty much debunked the haunting stories. Hell Hollow probably got its name from the poor soil in the area; the rocks made it very difficult to farm there.

I have lived in this area for all my life... I have been to Hell Hollow rd to many times to count. I fish at the pond. I dirt bike and off road with my jeep in the woods adjacent to the area filmed. Never have i had any supernatural experiences. Not saying I'm a non believer, but a little over the top here.
BTW....Maud has a marked grave less than a half mile from the psychic encounter shown in this video. Not sure if it's real or not.
Good show anyway guys!

Maude, a WITCH?! That is just ludicrous! She was only two years old for crying out loud! Did the thought of grave robbers or hungry animals ever cross their minds?

I live close I dont remember ever hearing about this or the story till now but wow Id like to take a drive down obviously during the day just to drive down
"Maude a WITCH?!"
This was a "rumor" started by the people of the town at that time, and is not the belief of CPRS. I agree, it is rediculous. Back then, people were very quick to brand other people witches when they didn't understand things. Different time, and era.
