actually, barbershop has really changed over the past 100 years, and is rapidly changing still. so maybe you should do some research before you make an ass of yourself on youtube. and why do you put style in quotes? Do you think barbershop doesn't exist or something? or isn't unique?

basses should never be made to sing G natural above middle C in there "chest" voice. i sang along with the high tag in d major and my head damn near exploded. no more singing above D or E for me thanks

WHen I first sang in a barbershop quartet (in 1947), it was all about fun. Around 1982, I discovered it was becoming more of a business than a hobby, with extensive screenings as to who could sing in a competing chorus. Choruses got bigger and bigger and more and more professional and for me, the fun evaporated. I used to program woodshedding "contests" and everyone had a good time. It's wonderful to see that at least some of this is still around - with fantastic musicianship thrown in.
