what's the paper setup here. Medium or fine tooth? It looks like one guy was using laid paper. I'm guessing smudging to achieve even quick base values or edge softening isn't used, also.
This is only a facet of ones training - but an important facet. ''Soul'' and ''personal perspective'' play no role in this aspect of one's training. The intangible qualities of art are vital to its success, but to expect that these qualities should be present at the beginning of one's training is perhaps asking too much.
and although the drawings are accurate they lack of soul. One shouldn't focus only on accuracy, there's much more to art. Granted, technique is important, but overanalysis and copying is kind of pointless.Painting and drawing is also about simplicity and personal perspective. all i'm saying is that it seems kind of dry, other than than i can appreciate the effort since i'm also doing that stuff.
This is simply a tour of my drawing class, not a how-to video. I will post a how-to video for those who would like some info on getting started on a classical cast drawing. Thanks for the post and for getting me thinking about another cast video.
wow great you guys can draw ...WHAT IS THE PROCESS! thanks for the help.
most people ca not afford to go to a school like that and the fact is that with enough practice and the right instruction ANYONE can draw.but without the process this video is useless

yeah ... with these large shadow shapes we can all draw. Try doing that in daylight, just to test your training... lol

LOL...The hard part is finding the cast to draw (reasonably priced that is). Nice video btw.

The drawings are done in graphite. Sometimes we use charcoal, but I don't think any of these are. Thanks for the question.

is that graphite or charcoal pencil?
