  • The only church that illuminates is a burning church.

  • Apparently reading comprehension is not your forte.

You were accusing the ACLU of a "war on religion."

I responded by telling you that the ACLU's attempts to stop teachers from preaching their religious beliefs to students, is not a war on religion, but is in fact an attempt to defend the 1st Amendment's establishment clause.

    Again, my statement stands.

  • Oh Bill Maher, how I love you so....

  • ... I have seen the light. Oh wait no, the church is just on fire.

  • and that's the truth

  • best best best best!

  • th3gr8juan: Do you have any examples of cases where the ACLU tried to keep individual students from praying on their own in school, or are you just making that part up?

  • th3gr8juan: Yes, it is the 1st amendment. I suspect that you're only for school prayer if it's Christian, right? I somehow doubt that you would be so in love with school prayer if teachers started leading classes in prayers to Ganesha.

  • th3gr8juan: Nobody is telling kids that they can't pray in school.

  • Saying they can't pray is what's a joke. They can pray. They can't do it during a lesson, nor can they be *forced to pray*.

Shoving their religion down everyone else's throat is no one's freedom.

  • "The ACLU fights against students who want to pray on their own."

This is simply not true, and I defy you to provide evidence to back up such a ridiculous claim.

  • Again, your statement "Keeping religion out of...public schools is in defense of the 1st Amendment." I never said teachers telling students when to pray or to whom to pray. The ACLU fights against students who want to pray on their own. That is not defense of the 1st Amendment.
