On May 7th and 8th, 2011, hand hewing and timber framing expert Mike Beaudry lead a two-day Crafting Frames of Timber workshop at Newforest Institute in Brooks, Maine. Starting with logs, participants hand hewed dimensional timbers, cut joinery, made trunnels (wooden pegs), and raised and trunneled the frame. The finished product will be a roof frame for Newforest's solar shower building.
