"Kickstart My Heart" is a Grammy Award Nominated song by the American rock band Mötley Crüe, originally released on their 1989 album, Dr. Feelgood. The song was written by Nikki Sixx about his famous overdose in which he was declared clinically dead before being revived by two adrenaline shots to the heart. The overdose was back in 1987 when Guns N' Roses and Mötley Crüe toured together. The overdose took place in ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash's hotel room, though Slash had nothing to do with Nikki's overdose.

The video clip was shot in the Whisky-A-Go-Go during the Mötley Crüe's warm up show before embarking on the Dr. Feelgood Tour. Sam Kinison is featured at the start of the video in a short cameo as the band's driver. For the 'Carnival of Sins' tour 2005, "Kickstart My Heart" was used as the band's closing song of a concert because of its fast pace and epic feel. This was again proven when the band used it as an intro for 'Crüe Fest 2008.'

Released as the album's second single in 1989, "Kickstart My Heart" reached #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States. The introduction is a classic example of a Floyd Rose bridge trick, in which Mick Mars drops 3 consecutive strings resulting in sound similar to a motorcycle shifting gears * "Kickstart My Heart" was played during the preview of the film Cars. * "Kickstart My Heart" is an attack move used by Bridget of the fighting game series Guilty Gear. * "Kickstart My Heart" is used as background music in a racing montage during Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. * "Kickstart My Heart" is used at the end of the movie Shoot 'Em Up. at the end where Mr. Smith (played by Clive Owen) meets up with Monica Bellucci's character at a diner that ends up being robbed by a group of thugs. * "Kickstart My Heart", along with the rest of the Dr. Feelgood album, is now available as downloadable content for Rock Band/Rock Band 2. * "Kickstart My Heart" is featured on the soundtrack of the Playstation 2 game Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. * "Kickstart My Heart" was featured on the trailer for the Playstation 2 game Scarface: The World Is Yours. * "Kickstart My Heart" was featured in the "Traveling Salesman" episode in the third season of The Office. * "Kickstart My Heart" is used by the US Navy Blue Angels in part of their performance. The song plays when the six jets take off. * "Kickstart My Heart" was used as the theme song for American professional wrestler, Johnny Ace, during his tenure in All Japan Pro Wrestling. * "Kickstart My Heart" was played during the preview of the film Shorts. * "Kickstart My Heart" is a featured song in the upcoming action-adventure title Brutal Legend on the main character Eddie Riggs' car radio. * "Kickstart My Heart" has been feautured in Jimmy Eat World's A Praise Chorus. * "Kickstart My Heart" was featured on the episode "Peace, Love & Understanding" of the TV series Beavis and Butt-head. * "Kickstart My Heart" is one of many songs available in the Universal Studios Florida attraction Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit
