Another Stop motion animation. For this tutorial I decided to create my own creatures rather than the fish turns into rocket example. I used a caterpillar that evolves into a butterfly.
I first drew each frame in order starting with the caterpillar and slightly altering it's position on every sheet of paper (ie: every frame) first turning into a blob before taking the form of a butterfly. Again this was over 24 frames and I filmed with a 24 frames per second rate, taking two images per frame.
I felt that I was successful in this tutorial as the process is very smooth.

The benefits of hand drawn animation is that if a scene/frame goes wrong or is missing during editing, it is easy to simply draw the required frames, shoot them and edit the frames into position, without having to set up and re-shoot the whole scene.
