  • @HermitintheRain which is further reinforced by Paul's elaboration of what he is here stating in verses 7-8 where he speaks of the Wicked being revealed by the taking away of him that lets. If he who lets and is taken out of the way is in fact the Holy Spirit who has been restraining this son of perdition; it would be by consequence necessary that those who are born of that same Spirit also be taken out of the way, lest the Lord's promise be broken of never leaving us.

  • one point about the use of η αποστασια is that in its very case structure as a noun written in the nominative indicates a proper naming or declaration of something "The Apostasia". that English translations use the indirect article only adds confusion to the grammatical structure which indicates an event, or more specifically, the event known as The Departure/Apostasy-which must happen first-πρωτον-before the man of sin is revealed.
