The next instalment of the multi-million selling Devil May Cry franchise, DmC sees Capcom collaborating with UK based Ninja Theory to explore new frontiers for the series. DmC is in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

From its debut on PlayStation 2 in 2001, the Devil May Cry series has been synonymous with stylish action, rewarding combat and a brash, smart-talking protagonist. This 'Devil May Cry DNA' remains but is now injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise.

Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost. DmC will retain the series' signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system as players encounter the game's devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment.

A true collaboration, DmC sees the team at Ninja Theory joined by key staff from Capcom's R&D division. Creative direction for the title will be undertaken by Ninja Theory's Tameen Antoniades and overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all previous titles in the series. DmC is being co-produced by Capcom's Japanese and North American development operations.

probably most people forgot about Dante & Vergil. remember that Vergil is Dante's twin but has the opposite personality. That is why Dante in DMC3 was cockier, and Vergil was silent egoistic person. They both has opposite personality as a twin. One don't give a damn about anything, One only cares about power. if this is the type of Dante, non-cockier, then I'm afraid Vergil will be the opposite, a stupid Vergil perhaps.

@Zephyr16 it's not just about Dante. most of DMC fans rage about the story, the characters, the whole thing they change. this game is set as Parallel Universe. this game is all about Dante, unlike the previous four, it's about Dante protecting what his father, Sparda, has done. this new Dante, however, unclear story, his mother now is an Angel. there's probably won't have Vergil, Lady, Trish, Nero etc. cuz it's all Parallel.

@Zephyr16 I honestly don't think DmC is like God of War. Technically, God of War is LIKE DmC since DmC came out before God of War. I think. I also believe that comboing in DmC is much more challenging in terms of its gameplay mechanics. My thumbs always felt sore after big fights in DmC; whereas my thumbs never grew sore after comboing in God of War.
