The students were asked to make posters on "Light and its uses in daily life" one week prior to the date of the activity. On the day of the activity, the competents were asked to explain their posters and basic idea behind their posters. Our Volunteer went to the poster of every student, thoroughly interacted with them and chose three best posters from each standard. We wanted to have an insight of their knowledge and understanding in the field of Optics. Students were informed about laser etc. and their uses in daily life. Tea and snacks were also served during the activity. This activity provided us clear views for our next step towards our activities in rural area. We plan to exten this to other rural schools and demonstrate some experiments also. Through this activity we have opened our arms to rural colleges also, who are also now becoming aware of Optics, OSA and its activities.
