Nice commentary William. I wish I didn't watch the vid because that kid was a complete asshole...but don't.whinge about hitting kids. Hitting obviously shouldn't.be the first port of call (beating children is fucked), but a lot of kids don't respond to verbal cues. If there is no genuine threat of punishment, they'll walk all over you.

@harbltown I'm sure there IS a way to get through to them without hitting, a lot of the time it's psychological, I'm not a child psychologist but having being a kid [as were all of us lol], you tend to want to figure out your parents, armed with that information.

They're nothing but plastic [figuratively speaking]

So, I guess one should make sure their kids never figure out what makes them tick LOL

Send them to boot camp, let them be shown what respect is. I am sorry no amount of beating will change them, the mum should ground him, no games tv or friends allowed and the mum should talk to the child and if possible only talk to them if need be for the next two weeks ignore them so that they realise how much they have embarrass and hurt you and that you are very disappointed with their action

That child is in the wrong place . His mother should send him to the West Indies for a looong vacation with his granny. Then, in three months, you would see a totally reformed child. Trust me!

The behaviour of this child suggests to he has some kind of behavioural issue (ADHD, Aspergers etc...) based on my experience with children and young people in youth work and alternative education settings.

His mother has patience......I would have given him some consequences right there on the bus....kids need discipline as well as love. They need a genuine fear of the consequences of their behaviour. No consequences at home or in the justice system leads to this and riots!!!
