@ComicBookSyndicate. I agree. I mean 1999 wasn't that long ago. I fail to understand why the big two (e.g. DC, Marvel) continue to do those cruddy big event crossovers (e.g. Secret Invasion, Brightest Day). I have lost all interest in them.
Ellis was actually interviewed about the end of the Wildstorm imprint and the Authority. He remarked that it would be cool to have the Authority go on hiatus for a decade and then bring them back.

@ComicBookSyndicate No, but i know I have to. I think that Superman story would be perfect for live action too. I just said that, because I already know another movie is being made.

the villains in black look kind of reminiscent of viltrumites

I haven't seen anything come close to Ellis/Hitch's Authority run. Not even Millar's Ultimates.

@1977Melville And its importance to comic book history seems to have been swept under the rug. So frustrating...

I never read Auhtority, but I have read some of their crossovers. The Kev and Lobo ones. And I really liked Superman story "What's so funny about truth, justice, and the American way." Where he fights a team similar to The Authority. I always thought it would be a good movie. Maybe animated?

@MainCharacterChannel I think it would make a great live action movie! The artwork by Bryan Hitch is so realistic, that it would make an easy transition to the screen?
Have you ever read "Ultimates" by Millar & Hitch? Its a very similar vibe.
