Arthur Big Boy Crudup (b.Aug.5, 1905 - d.March 28. 1974) Born Forest Mississippi was a migrant worker. Went to Chicago 1939 worked as a street musician. Got a recording contract with RCA Victor's Bluebird label. He recorded through 1940s and part of the 1950s. Sometimes called the father of rock & roll. Like so many others he never got paid royalties due him. He returned to agricultural labor & bootlegging. He died of heart disease in Virginia 1974.
"My Mama Don't Allow Me" was recorded Chicago April 15th 1942 and was his 5th disc released.
