Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2.0 VS AC Cobra 427 on Zwartkops

This on-board footage comes from Rory Sharp's 1982 Alfa Romeo Giulietta, during an Alfa Trofeo race on 27/02/2010 at Zwartkops Raceway, South Africa.

The clip starts where the Cobra (driven by Keith Hinckley) and Giulietta (driven by Rory Sharp) start their duel - a few laps into the race. The Trofeo race is a handicap race, so the fastest guys start last. The Giulietta and the yellow Cobra were the fastest cars in their respective classes.

The Cobra has huge power on the straights, but the little Alfa makes up for its lack of power through the corners! The Cobra had a fastest in-race lap time of 01:14.699 and the Alfa's fastest lap time was a 01:15.452.

In the end - the Alfa only finished 0.4 seconds behind the Cobra! :-)

This is great , this prooves that a small engine and a well built body helps the car more than mad acceleration , a good track needs a smart car ... Great duel and thumbs up for both drivers !
