Love Gameplay HD

Quel Solaar (http://www.quelsolaar.com/) just launched their new and radically reimagined MMO "Love" a game by Eskil Steenberg.

The Alpha client literally went live a few hours ago. I've been looking forward to trying out this "game" ever since I first read about it in 2008/2009.

This video is a montage of my first few minutes exploring in the game.

For those who are unfamiliar with the title, it is a fundamentally procedural game - everything in world is generated dynamically & mathematically, rather than consisting of pre-rendered textures applied to hard-coded geometry.

Than in itself is not remarkable. It's really the unique aesthetic and visuals that make this game stand out, it looks more like an impressionist painting than conventional CGI.

The core premise of the game is also notable. Players form settlements and work together to achieve goals rather than focusing on leveling up and mindless grinding.

how populated are the servers...I was thinking about getting this when it launched but self doubt rolled in...or is there only one server?

@frumpy10182 Try the wiki it's faster. In short: there is more than 1 server, some are more populated than others. Depending on the time you log on it may seem deserted except for the AI. That was my experience anyway, it has been 9 months since then, things may have changed dramatically.

@neotoy bought a 30 day membership. haven't figured it out yet :) looks really cool though. but i think minecraft is more worth it. about 20 in most all currencies for full game, no drm.
