OK, before we explore what the Dial-IQ Suite does, to clear up any confusion, let's quickly review the various outbound dialer options available in the market today
There are 3 types of outbound dialer
The most basic is click-to-dial, which is sometimes also called click-to-call.
With click-to-call installed users of a lead management or CRM system simply click on a contact's telephone number and a call is immediately placed to that number from the user's phone.
As basic as this sounds, there are some pretty significant benefits to a click-to-dial system
First of all, clicking on a lead to place a call is a bit faster than keying a number into a phone-pad manually. Especially if you consider that it eliminates miskeying
Perhaps even more importantly, having click-to-dial installed means that you can log calls in your lead management platform or CRM. This ensures that your sales reps are dispositioning their leads accurately and providing you have a decent lead management system or CRM it also means that you end up with better, more accurate reporting about call timing, volume and frequency. All of which are critical metrics for running an effective sales team.
On the downside, click-to-dial is not as fast as the other two main dialer categories.
The secondary category of outbound dialer is designed to call on lists of leads. List dialing comes in a couple of varieties.
There's power dialing; also sometimes referred to as progressive dialing.
In this type of dialing methodology each lead on a list is called one after another until a connection is made
Another popular type of list dialing is called predictive dialing. This type of dialer makes many more calls than you have sales reps and connects leads when the consumer picks up with an available rep.
Both types of list dialer are great for call centers, where you want to make a large volume of calls in a short amount of time.
However, traditional list dialing is definitively not the right thing for every organization. Normal 'power dialing tends to be a monotonous process and predictive dialing has come under a lot of criticism in recent years since the technology is highly prone to long pauses when a consumer answers the phone and dropped calls.
The final category of dialer are those that optimized to call individual leads, usually in a manner that ensures new leads are called automatically as soon as they are generated.
There are several names that are used for lead dialing and most companies that use this system report that response rates on new leads skyrocket following their implementation.
