  • @lilsmidge Stainless steel is a bit too hard. Try sterling silver, copper, brass or nickel. Those metals are softer and easier to stamp. And make sure that you are stamping in a steel bench block on a sturdy table.

  • I am using a .5 guage silver and its difficult to stamp, what should I ask for?

  • @ccsteyn1

We use anything from 24 gauge to 18 gauge for stamping. We carry a variety of blanks in these gauges. You can use whatever you like and what works best for your projects.

  • Hi I find it difficult to sstamp on Sterling Siver. The metal is hard compared to copper and aluminium. I am using 0.5mm sterling silver. What am I doing wrong? Regards Cheryl

    Hi Cheryl,

What is the exact problem you are having? Are you not getting the impression of the letters? What type of hammer are you using?

  • Could I get the letter set and the bench block at michaels?? Thanks

I am not sure what Michaels carries in the way of jewelry making supplies. You can check on their website to see if this is a medium they even offer. You can visit beaducation's website for all your stamping needs.

  • Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me what metals I should look for to stamp on? As I got stainless steel tags but the stamps aren't showing up very well. Is this metal too hard?

    Thanks.

  • Hi is it fine silver that I should be using as they sent me baked silver and it is very hard to stamp. Regards Cheryl

  • i think you might be stamping german silver or nickle silver and not sterling

  • Excellent advice. You're a natural teacher. Thank you.
