E60 M5 vs E46 M3 Supercharged

I was invited to Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground by CA Automotive and had the opportunity to run down the airfield against an E46 M3 SMG running a CA Automotive Supercharger. The M3 was estimated to be running close to 550bhp but hadn't been dyno'd as it still needed some live mapping.

We were hoping to start at the same time but as you'll see, I was a little delayed hitting the record button on the camera and by the time I had launched my M5 the M3 was already well on it's way.

I've raced a stock E46 M3 many times and raced an M3 CSL a few times at Fighting Torque (1 mile standing start race event) and its always been a fairly significant win, even with delayed start as per this video the M5 would still have been several car lengths ahead of a stock M3 by the end.

I was, it is fair to say, extremely shocked at just how quick the supercharged M3 was in this race, I'd like to say I started to reel in the car lengths as speeds got above 150mph but I really don't think I gained on him at all.

I was fortunate enough to be allowed a blast down the runway in the M3 a few weeks later but unfortunately when it was raining heavily so I couldn't get all the power down.
