Sorry about taking so long to reply. I've heard of it but I have not experienced this. I'm 5 1/2 years into locing and have experienced no breakage. I've switched back and forth between methods many times.

I've been told that switching back and forth from interlocking and palm rolling can cause space in the locks and make them break.
Have you heard of this?
How true have you found it to be?

Greetings Queen! I know that this was made some time ago but I just happened to come across your video. Thank you so much for your post. I've had my locs for 15 yrs. and at 1st I didn't need to twist or latch. But recently, my new growth has been driving me nuts. My hair seems similar to yours ( mixed grades ) so I am gonna try your method. Just curious...what city do you live in? Anyway, thanks again and your hair is beautiful :).
Hey Pink! Question: How often should u latch ur hair. I have alot of new growth in 2 weeks and my roots start to infuse with each other. I month is kinda too long. I dont know what to do. Can I latch every 2 weeks?

@Ndyof3 I say whatever works for you but be careful of overtighting your hair and stressing it. Gently pulling the locks apart at the roots may help as well. I think your hair will tell you if it likes the more frequent latching or not.... be careful of thinning.

@chinyre83 I didn't start latching till they were about a year and a half old I think. I've had my locs for about 6 years now.

Hey Pinky
I loved the video and I have had my locs for about 6 months but have really soft hair and I want to start latching my hair. I was wondering if the latch at the root is creating a knot or no.

It's not a knot, it's making the same sort of twist as a braid which is easily removed later on.
