I know this is way late, but Christmas is a gigantic mixture of Commercialist,Druid, Christian and Roman beliefs, not about 'Christ being born for the redemption of our sins'--that is merely the smokescreen that was conjured by the Catholic Church to keep non-Christians oppressed. The Christmas tree is a Celtic practice for the time of Yule which took place on Dec. 21st where the men would bring in the trees to represent longevity. Catholics merely took and added onto what was already there :)

I don't celebrate Xmas now, but when I was a very young kid, the 'magic' was lost, when one year, I noticed we didn't have as much. My father told me that he had to pay Santa for the gifts. For me, that was it. I never asked for another thing.
